Security Tightened in Kathmandu Valley for Holi Festival

Authorities have intensified security measures across Kathmandu Valley to ensure a safe and orderly celebration of the Holi festival.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Binod Ghimire, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, traffic checks have been heightened in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur since this morning. This year, those found violating traffic rules will not only face legal action but will also be made to stand on the roadside for the entire day, effectively barring them from participating in Holi celebrations.

Security personnel equipped with necessary gear have been deployed at over 120 locations throughout the Valley. A joint security checking operation is being conducted by Nepal Police, Traffic Police, and Civil Police to maintain order.

Nepal Police has urged everyone to celebrate Holi in a friendly and family-oriented manner, respecting traditional customs. Meanwhile, the District Administration Offices of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur have warned that strict action will be taken against those engaging in unruly behavior during the festival.
