Tanahu Bus Accident: Two of 36 Injured Succumb to Injuries

In the aftermath of a bus accident that transpired at Ghansikuwa, Byas Municipality-12 of Tanahu district this morning, two individuals among the 36 injured have tragically lost their lives.

The ill-fated bus, bearing registration number plate Ga 1 Kha 7895, veered off the road and plunged, causing the unfortunate incident. The bus was en route from Dharan to Pokhara.

The victims identified in the accident are 45-year-old Hasta Rai of Sagurigadhi rural municipality-9, Dhankuta district, and 50-year-old Top Bahadur Magar, whose address could not be ascertained, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khand at the District Police Office Tanahu.

Rai succumbed to injuries at Ratnahari Hospital, while Magar breathed his last at Damauli Hospital, according to DSP Khand. Preety Yadav, 15, of Mahadev-6, Saptari district, has been discharged from the hospital after receiving primary treatment, while the remaining 33 injured individuals continue to undergo medical care.

Of the injured, nine, including the bus driver, 23-year-old Homlal Palli Magar of Sarumaharani-5, Pyuthan, and the bus helper, 30-year-old Ajit Pariyar of Pokhara Metropolitan City, have been transported to Pokhara for further treatment, as reported by the police.
