Two Gandaki Province Ministers Removed from Office

In a significant development, two ministers in the Gandaki provincial government have been relieved of their responsibilities. Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey announced the dismissal of Social Development and Health Minister, Sushila Simkhada, and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management, Resham Bahadur Jugjali, both representing the CPN (Maoist Centre) in the provincial coalition government.

Taking charge of the situation, Chief Minister Pandey declared that he will personally oversee the operations of the two ministries henceforth.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Province Chief, Prithvi Man Gurung, the council of ministers has been reconstituted as per the provisions of Article 168 (9) of the Constitution, along with the allocation of portfolios.

The change in power dynamics at the center has sent ripples through the province. Following the formation of a new alliance comprising the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the CPN (UML) at the national level, replacing the previous Nepali Congress and Maoist Centre coalition, a similar realignment has been observed in the Gandaki Province.

The formation of a new mini-Council of Ministers on Monday underscores the evolving political landscape both at the national and provincial levels.
