US Ambassador Thompson meets Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha

Ambassador of the United States of America Dean R. Thompson today paid a courtesy call to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

During the meeting held at the Home Ministry, the two exchanged views on further strengthening the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.

During that, Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha said that the government is focused on completing the remaining work of the peace process in accordance with the contents of the comprehensive peace agreement on transitional justice and is expecting support from Nepal’s benevolent international bodies.

Ambassador Thompson said that the United States wants to see the completion of the peace process in Nepal and will take initiatives to facilitate it with itself and its diplomatic partners.

Likewise, Ambassador Thompson said that the US will fully support the strengthening of Nepali democracy.

The Ambassador was also interested in the security of American investments, working organizations and their employees in Nepal. Shrestha said that there will be complete security.
