75 Arrested for Unruly Behavior at Pashupatinath Temple on Mahashivaratri

Police arrested 75 individuals from the Pashupatinath temple premises today during the Mahashivaratri festival for engaging in unruly behavior.

According to Apil Raj Bohara, spokesperson and Superintendent of Police at the Kathmandu District Police Range, the arrests were made in response to incidents of hooliganism, disturbances, and other inappropriate activities within the sacred site.

Some of the detainees have been held at the Police Circle Gaushala, while others have been taken to the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

To ensure security and maintain order, a total of 4,200 police personnel, led by a Superintendent of Police, were deployed in the Pashupatinath area. Despite the arrests, thousands of devotees have gathered at the temple since early morning to offer prayers.
