Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel Recommended for Lt. General
Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel has received a recommendation for promotion to the esteemed position of Lieutenant General in the Nepali Army. The decision was made during a meeting of the promotion committee at the military headquarters in Bhadrakali on Friday. Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the Military Spokesperson, announced that a 7-day notice has been issued, putting forth the proposal for Sigdel’s promotion.
This decision follows the acceptance of the resignation tendered by Taradhwaj Pandey, who had initially been recommended for the position. The cabinet meeting on Thursday accepted Pandey’s resignation, paving the way for Major General Sigdel’s promotion process to commence.
As part of the procedural protocol, the promotion committee has also invited any complaints against Major General Sigdel within the next seven days. If there are no objections raised within this timeframe, Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel is set to assume the role of Chief of Army Staff after a period of 10 months. The recommendation signifies a significant advancement in his military career.
