EU provides Rs 12 million grants for plastic waste management
The European Union (EU) has provided Rs 12 million grants to the Creation Nepal to implement a project aimed at fostering entrepreneurship on management of plastic waste.
The grants were received by Creation Nepal which will launch a green shift project to foster entrepreneurship in three provinces.
Project chief Unish Ghimire informed that the monetary assistance would be utilized for the private level enterprises on management of plastic garbage.
Six enterprises- two each in Bagmati, Madhesh and Lumbini Provinces- will be further transferred the grant based on their performance. The selected ones will get Rs 2 million each.
Ghimire further informed, “The grant will help build capacity of the concerned enterprises along with physical infrastructures and purchase of machineries.”
Similarly, founder chair of the Creation Nepal, Anand Mishra, observed that it was possibly the first huge grant received at private level for innovation.
