One-way traffic resumes along BP, Araniko highways
06th Jul 2024
The vehicular movements have resumed along the BP and Araniko highways, which were earlier obstructed due to landslips.
The mud deposits on the highways were removed with joint efforts of locals and police persons, thereby paving way for one-way traffic.
The landslips occurred at Mangaltar, Narke, Lhaskot and Charayabesi along the BP Highway, while 52-Kilo and Tirtirdhara along the Araniko Highway had similar obstruction since this morning, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raj Kumar Shrestha.
Currently, efforts are on to ensure two-way vehicular movement. The police coordinated with locals and people’s representatives for mobilizing heavy equipment as excavator to clear the landslips and mudflows.
