UML Urges RSP: Don’t Back PM Prachanda
07th Jul 2024
During a special session at the House of Representatives on Sunday, CPN-UML Secretary Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai strongly advised the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) against extending support to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. Bhattarai compared supporting PM Dahal to boarding a sinking ship, cautioning that such a move could potentially harm the RSP.
Amidst recent parliamentary developments where the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have formed an alliance, Bhattarai emphasized that PM Dahal should not seek to extend his tenure until July 12. He suggested that instead of pursuing another vote of confidence, Dahal should consider resignation, pointing out a decline in support from 268 to 157 votes.
