FNJ Elections Underway to Elect New Leadership

The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), the umbrella organization representing journalists in Nepal, is conducting its election today to elect new leadership.

According to the central election committee, voting will take place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM today.

Candidates for various leadership positions include Devi Prasad Sapkota, Nirmala Sharma, Ramesh Bista, and Lal Singh Lama for the post of central president. For senior vice-president, Govinda Prasad Chaulagain, Deepak Acharya, and Roshan Puri are contesting.

For the post of women vice-president, Ganga Poudel and Neetu Pandit are in the race, while Umid Bagchand, Mohan Kumar Singh, and Subhash Prasad Sah are competing for the inclusive vice-president position.

In the general secretary race, Janamdev Jaisi, Prakash Thapa, Ram Prasad Dahal, and Lekhnath Neupane are vying for the post.

The elections will select the leadership for the central committee, 10 provincial committees, 77 district chapters, and 41 Pratishthan chapters of the FNJ.
