Ballot papers transported to polling stations for NA election

In preparation for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election scheduled for January 25, the Election Commission has successfully transported a total of 6,910 ballot papers of 38 types to the related Election Officers’ offices in all seven provinces.

The Commission confirmed that the ballot papers have been printed in accordance with the approved design and standards for the upper house election. For the NA member election, which will determine 19 seats, eligible voters include province assembly members, chairpersons, vice chairpersons of rural municipalities, mayors, and deputy mayors of municipalities.

To maintain clarity and distinction, different ballot paper specifications have been implemented. The province assembly members will use white ballot papers with green ink and designated election symbols. On the other hand, chairpersons, vice chairpersons of rural municipalities, mayors, and deputy mayors of municipalities will use white papers with red ink and corresponding election symbols.

Deputy Spokesperson at the Commission, Shreedhar Panthi, provided additional details on the distribution of ballot papers. He mentioned that, based on the electoral college size and the number of vacant posts, various types of ballot papers have been transported to different provinces. For instance, Koshi Province will receive four types of 920 ballot papers for two posts, Madhesh Province will receive four types of 940 ballot papers for two posts, and Bagmati Province will receive eight types of 1,760 ballot papers for four posts.

Furthermore, Lumbini Province will receive four types of 740 ballot papers for two posts, Karnali Province will receive six types of 750 ballot papers for three posts, and Sudurpaschim Province will receive six types of 900 ballot papers for three posts.

The Election Commission assures the public of its commitment to conducting a fair and transparent election process, ensuring that every vote counts in shaping the future representation in the National Assembly.
