Bandipur Welcomes Over 200,000 Tourists in a Year

More than 210,000 tourists visited the scenic hilltop town of Bandipur in Tanahun district during the year 2081 BS (April 13, 2024 to April 13, 2025), according to the Bandipur Visit Year Secretariat.
The influx included approximately 60,000 international tourists and 150,000 domestic visitors. The Bandipur Visit Year campaign, officially launched on January 1, 2025, has brought a boost to local tourism with visible improvements in infrastructure, service quality, and tourism data collection.
As part of the campaign, efforts have been made to classify tourism service providers based on standards and to enhance hospitality services—aiming to increase visitor spending and extend their stay duration.
Visitors came from a wide range of countries including Japan, China, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, France, the United States, Germany, Denmark, Pakistan, Australia, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Belgium, Thailand, Switzerland, Malaysia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Iran, India, Greece, and Argentina.
Officials say the growth in tourist numbers reflects the increasing popularity of Bandipur as a cultural and natural heritage destination.
