Chinese app TikTok banned in Nepal

The government has decided to ban the popular Chinese app, TikTok. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held today, with government spokesperson Rekha Sharma confirming the move.

Sharma explained that the decision to shut down TikTok stemmed from concerns about activities on the platform that were deemed to be disrupting social harmony in Nepal. The government believes that taking this step is essential to maintain order and stability in the country.

As a result of the ban, users in Nepal will no longer have access to TikTok, marking a significant move by the government to address issues related to the app. The decision reflects a growing trend in various countries to regulate or ban certain social media platforms due to perceived threats to social harmony and security.
