Home Ministry Directs Restoration of Encroached Public Land

The Home Ministry has reiterated its instruction to all 77 district administration offices across the country to take action to restore encroached public land to its rightful state.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane issued the directive once again on Friday, emphasizing the importance of reclaiming public land that has been encroached upon.

Additionally, Minister Lamichhane instructed the district administration offices to provide details of the actions taken thus far and to submit daily progress reports to the Ministry moving forward.

This directive follows recent actions taken by the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, under the guidance of Home Minister Lamichhane. On Thursday, the office sealed off land belonging to Nepal Scout and the structures built on it, as it was discovered that a private company was occupying the property despite the termination of the lease agreement. Subsequently, on Friday, the land of Agriculture Materials Company was also surveyed for encroachment.
