Cuban Ambassador and Nepali Speaker hold talks

The non-residential Ambassador of Cuba to Nepal, Alejandro Simancas Marin, paid a courtesy visit to Speaker Devraj Ghimire at Singha Durbar on Wednesday.

During the meeting, various issues were discussed, including the prospect of parliamentary exchange and the expansion of relations between the two countries.

Similarly, Speaker Ghimire recalled the longstanding diplomatic relations between Nepal and Cuba, which have been established for 48 years. He expressed his belief that the two countries have been cooperating in various fields, including economic, social, and political, and praised the assistance provided by the Cuban medical team during the earthquake.

Likewise, in the meeting, Speaker Ghimire expressed his congratulations to the President and parliamentarians who were elected in the recent Cuban parliamentary elections. Additionally, he conveyed Nepal’s readiness to further enhance the already existing cordial relations between the two nations and to expand parliamentary exchanges between their respective legislative bodies.
