Curfew Lifted in Birgunj, Prohibitory Order Enforced

The District Administration Office (DAO), Parsa, has lifted the curfew imposed in Birgunj Metropolitan City from midnight on Sunday.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal stated that the decision to lift the curfew was made following a review of the improving law and order situation in the area. The decision was also based on a consensus reached during an all-party meeting.

Despite the removal of the curfew, a prohibitory order has been enforced starting April 14, banning all forms of gatherings, meetings, processions, and demonstrations until further notice. Authorities have warned that those violating the order will face legal action.

The curfew was initially imposed at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday after a clash between two groups in Birgunj escalated into violence.
