Diplomatic Community Mourns the Loss of Sita Dahal, Offers Condolences

The diplomatic community has come together to pay heartfelt tributes to Sita Dahal, the wife of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who passed away in Kathmandu on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment.

Sita, who was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy along with Parkinsonism, Diabetes Mellitus-II and Hypertension for a long time, was taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning following complications in her health condition.

In a wave of heartfelt condolences, world leaders and diplomats expressed their sorrow over the passing of Sita Dahal. The news of her demise has brought forth an outpouring of sympathy and support for the bereaved family.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express his deep sadness upon hearing the news. In his tweet, he extended his sincere condolences to Prime Minister Dahal and offered prayers for the departed soul to find eternal peace. Modi’s message conveyed his empathy and solidarity with the Nepalese leader during this challenging time.

 

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song paid his respects to Sita Dahal by visiting the party office of the CPN (Maoist Centre). He offered condolences and support to the bereaved family on behalf of the Chinese government.

Dean R Thompson, the US Ambassador to Nepal, also conveyed his condolences in a tweet, expressing deep sympathies to Prime Minister Dahal and his family. He acknowledged the loss of Sita Dahal and assured the family that the thoughts and prayers of the US Mission to Nepal were with them during this difficult period.

 

India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also joined in mourning Sita Dahal’s passing. Vijay Chauthaiwale, the Foreign Affairs Department in-Charge of the party, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Dahal and his family. Chauthaiwale expressed hope that Pashupatinath would grant eternal peace to the departed soul and provide strength to the family during this tragic time.

 

Felicity Volk, the Australian Ambassador to Nepal, shared her thoughts and condolences through a tweet post. She expressed her sympathies for the Dahal family, emphasizing the sadness and difficulty of the moment. Volk’s message conveyed a sense of unity and shared grief with the Nepalese people.

 

The Sri Lankan Embassy expressed its deep condolences on Twitter, joining the international community in expressing sympathy for the loss of Sita Dahal. The embassy’s tweet conveyed solidarity with the bereaved family and offered prayers for the peace of the departed soul.

 

The Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal also joined the chorus of condolences, expressing their deepest sympathies for the loss of Sita Dahal. Through their tweet, the Swiss Embassy conveyed their solidarity with Prime Minister Dahal Prachanda and his family during this difficult time. The message emphasized their thoughts and prayers, highlighting the shared grief and support from the international community.
