Engineer and plumber of water supply office arrested with bribe of Rs 28 lakhs

Engineer Nawaraj Satyal and plumber Bakhat Bahadur Thapa have been arrested with a bribe of 28 lakh rupees from Water and Sanitation Division Office No.3 of Ramechhap.

The team of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority arrested engineer Satyal and plumber Thapa from the quarter of the water supply office located in Manthali municipality-1.

Authority sources said that Rs 16 lakh cash and a cheque of Rs 12 lakh were recovered from them.

The authority says that they have taken the money for the payment of the work of the Inchingaun water supply and sanitation consumer committee of Ramechhap.

The Authority’s spokesperson Shyam Prasad Bhandari said that the team of the Authority’s central office is in Ramechhap.
