Foreign Ministry Employee Found Dead in Begnas Lake

An employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anup Bhandari, has been found dead in the Begnas Lake in Pokhara, the Gandaki provincial capital. Bhandari, who was serving as a non-gazetted first-class officer, was discovered floating in the lake at 8:30 am on Monday, according to police.

Bhandari had left his room at 10 am on Sunday and had flown to Pokhara, where he informed his family of his visit that evening. The cause of his death remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway.

Bhandari’s body was retrieved by a team of police personnel led by Inspector Bhagwanraj Thapa, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrawan Kumar BK has stated that further inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
