Former President Salutes Ancestors, Credits Prithvi Narayan Shah for Nepal’s Sovereignty

In a heartfelt message delivered on the occasion of National Unity Day-2080 BS, Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari emphasized the pivotal role played by Prithvi Narayan Shah in laying the foundation for Nepal’s enduring national dignity and sovereignty through his unification efforts.

Bhandari expressed pride in Nepal’s historical distinction as one of the few ancient independent nations, attributing this achievement to the visionary leadership of the late King Prithvi Narayan Shah. She underscored the significance of the unification bid, asserting that it provided the bedrock for the country’s evolution into a democratic republic.
