Forward Anjan Bista Signs with Fortis FC, Bangladesh

Forward Anjan Bista of the Nepali national team has inked a deal with Fortis FC, one of the premier football clubs in Bangladesh. Bista’s signing marks a pivotal moment in his career as he steps into Bangladesh’s top-tier football league, the Bangladesh Premier League.

The announcement of Bista’s contract with Fortis FC was made public through local media sources, notably the Daily Star, confirming the forward’s shift to the Bangladeshi club.

Manager Rashedul Islam expressed his enthusiasm regarding Bista’s addition to the Fortis FC roster, citing the player’s extensive experience with the Nepali national team. Reflecting on Bista’s notable achievements, Islam highlighted his pivotal performance, including a remarkable hat-trick against Bangladesh during a friendly match in 2022.

“Adding Bista to our lineup brings depth and variation upfront,” Islam commented, emphasizing the strategic advantage Bista’s signing offers to the club.

Bista, who shares the title of Nepal’s all-time joint-highest goal scorer with Hari Khadka and Nirajan Rayamajhi, boasts an impressive track record of 13 goals in 60 matches. His prowess on the field has earned him recognition both domestically and internationally.

The 25-year-old forward is expected to join Fortis FC directly after his participation in Nepal’s crucial World Cup Qualifiers match against Bahrain scheduled for March 26.

Fortis FC currently holds the fifth position in the 10-team table, accumulating 12 points from nine matches. With Bista’s arrival, the club aims to strengthen its position and elevate its performance in the ongoing season of the Bangladesh Premier League.
