French Trekker Dies After Falling off Cliff in Rasuwa

Rasuwa, Nov 10: A tragic incident unfolded in Rasuwa district on Thursday as a 68-year-old French national, identified as Patrick Jean Marie Moul, lost his life after falling off a cliff during a trekking expedition.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Subash Budhathoki, confirmed the unfortunate demise of Moul, who had been trekking in Lumthang, en route to Kyangjen, Gosaikunda. The trek was organized by Trinetra Trekking Agency.

Severely injured, Moul was rescued by security personnel in the Langtang area. Efforts were made to airlift him to Kathmandu for medical treatment via a Fishtail helicopter. However, the journey proved fatal, and Moul passed away during the flight.

Local residents in the area have suggested that travel and trekking companies should provide guides, especially for senior trekkers and tourists, to enhance their safety during such expeditions. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures in trekking activities, urging both trekkers and organizers to prioritize precautions and guidance.
