Fugitive Durga Prasai Arrested in Jhapa, Being Transferred to Kathmandu

Police have apprehended medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, who had been on the run since the violent pro-monarchist protests at Tinkune on March 28. He was arrested in Bhadrapur, Jhapa, and is currently being brought to Kathmandu for further investigation.

In a press statement, Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General Dinesh Kumar Acharya confirmed that Prasai, along with his associate Dipak Khadka, was taken into custody.

The two are accused of crimes against the state and involvement in organized crime related to the March 28 clashes in Kathmandu.
