Government Task Force Finalizes Draft of Minimum Common Programme

The task force entrusted with drafting the Government’s Minimum Common Programme has completed its draft, marking a crucial step towards coalition cohesion and national development. Led by Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Vice Chair of the UML, the task force convened on Friday to consolidate inputs and suggestions, culminating in the formulation of the draft.

Speaking on behalf of the task force, Paudel emphasized the pivotal role of the draft in addressing fundamental issues facing the nation. He highlighted the draft’s prioritization of crucial areas such as safeguarding the constitution, fostering economic growth and prosperity, addressing economic challenges, instilling hope and confidence among citizens, and upholding national sovereignty and independence.

“The collaborative effort of the five political parties within the government aimed to create a Minimum Common Programme, and after extensive deliberations, we have successfully prepared a draft,” stated Paudel.

The draft is scheduled for submission to top leaders on Friday, underscoring the commitment of the government to transparency and inclusive governance. Upon approval, the Minimum Common Programme is poised to serve as a guiding framework for policy formulation and implementation, reflecting the collective aspirations and priorities of the coalition.

The completion of the draft heralds a new chapter in Nepal’s governance, signaling a concerted effort towards addressing pressing challenges and advancing the nation’s interests on multiple fronts.
