Government to provide Rs. 200,000 per each quake dead as immediate relief

The government has decided to provide Rs 200,000 per person who died due to the earthquake that struck Jajarkot on Friday night.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singha Durbar this morning made this decision, as announced by government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma. She emphasized that this assistance marks the first phase of immediate relief.

Similarly, she mentioned that the Cabinet paid tribute to the deceased individuals and resolved to expedite the rescue and relief efforts, as well as to offer free medical treatment to those injured in the earthquake.

One hundred and fifty-seven people lost their lives in Jajarkot and Rukum West districts when a 6.4 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in Jajarkot struck the region.
