Gurung of Manang successfully climbs Mt Aconcagua

Manu Gurung of Manang district has successfully scaled Mount Aconcagua of Argentina.

Gurung on February 1 had left for Argentina to climb the 6,960-meter tall mountain. This is the tallest mountain in the continent of South America. Associated in mountain tourism since long, Gurung has already climbed the Chulu West, Annapurna IV, Mira Peak, Phokalde, Lobuche and Dhumpus peaks, said Chairperson of Naso rural municipality, Dhan Bahadur Gurung.

An organisation–Mountain Women of the World Network had helped 15 women of different countries to climb the mountain. However, only nine women successfully climbed the Mt Aconcagua.
