Halt Brain Drain, Fuel Education Innovation: PM Urges Action

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, commonly known as ‘Prachanda,’ has called for immediate measures to curb the alarming rate of brain drain from the country. Addressing the 7th Assembly of Rajarshi Janak University, the Prime Minister highlighted the need to utilize the university’s dedication, capacity, and creative initiatives to prevent the exodus of intellectuals and learned individuals.

Prime Minister Prachanda stressed the importance of comprehensive education system reform to produce a human resource capable of leading the nation. He asserted that qualitative improvements in teaching and learning activities should be a top priority in today’s context. The impact of globalization on the education sector requires universities to enhance policies, curricula, pedagogy, and working styles.

“Competitive education based on innovation should be emphasized,” stated the Prime Minister, underlining the necessity of adapting to the evolving landscape of global education.

Commending Rajarshi Janak University for its swift establishment and the introduction of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in medical education, management, and computer technology, Prime Minister Prachanda assured the university that challenges related to land and infrastructure would be gradually addressed with improvements in the country’s economy.

Shifting focus to the federal structure, the Prime Minister revealed the government’s policy to develop the entire Madhesh province as a center of knowledge. He emphasized the profound faith in ancient civilization, culture, and cultural heritage behind the establishment of Rajarshi Janak University.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Prachanda highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing the dignity and academic prestige of universities.
