India Financed Campus and School Buildings Inaugurated in Rupandehi

A significant event unfolded in Rupandehi on February 25th, 2024, as the campus building of Shree Rammani Multiple Campus and the school building of Shree Naharpur Secondary School were formally inaugurated. These constructions made possible through a grant of NRs. 50.80 million from the Government of India under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ initiative, signify a significant step forward in bolstering educational infrastructure in the region.

The inauguration ceremony, held in the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Nepal, and Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Member of Parliament, House of Representatives, Constituency No.2, Rupandehi, was attended by a multitude of public representatives, government officials, educators, parents, and students. The event served as a testament to the strong bond between India and Nepal, as well as the collective commitment to advancing education and fostering community development.

With the financial assistance provided by the Government of India, Shree Rammani Multiple Campus has erected a triple-storied building equipped with essential furniture, while Shree Naharpur Secondary School has constructed a double-storied building complemented by additional infrastructural facilities. The projects were executed through the District Coordination Committee and Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, Rupandehi, under the auspices of the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) agreement between the two nations.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Naveen Srivastava reiterated the profound significance of these initiatives, highlighting their role in strengthening the longstanding development partnership between India and Nepal. He reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to supporting Nepal’s developmental endeavors in alignment with its national priorities, with a focus on enhancing the well-being of both countries’ citizens.

Shree Rammani Multiple Campus, founded in 1988, and Shree Naharpur Secondary School, established in 1971, have emerged as pillars of educational excellence in Rupandehi, catering to the diverse educational needs of the community. Their contribution to nurturing talent and fostering academic growth has been widely acknowledged, making them integral to the region’s educational landscape.

The Government of India’s support extends beyond infrastructure projects, with over 550 HICDPs undertaken in Nepal since 2003, including 61 projects in Lumbini Province and 12 in Rupandehi alone. Additionally, India’s generosity is evident in the donation of 974 ambulances and 234 school buses to various institutions across Nepal, further strengthening bilateral ties and underscoring mutual goodwill.

As the ceremony drew to a close, the newly inaugurated buildings stood as tangible symbols of the enduring friendship and cooperation between India and Nepal. They embody the shared vision of progress and prosperity, serving as beacons of hope for future generations and heralding a brighter tomorrow for the communities they serve.
