Journalist Dahal Receives ‘Vinay Kasaju Best Campaigner’ Award

The National Information Commission has awarded journalist Aditya Dahal the ‘Vinay Kasaju Best Campaigner Award- 2081’ for his extensive efforts in advocating for the right to information.

The award was presented during a ceremony at Sheetal Niwas by President Ram Chandra Paudel, marking the 17th Foundation Day of the Commission. Dahal, along with three other individuals from various regions, was honored for his long-term commitment to transparency and accountability in public bodies.

Dahal, originally from Sindhupalchok, has actively utilized the right to information to challenge opacity in government operations and encourage civic engagement. “Using the right to information, which is the oxygen of democracy, not only brings issues of public concern to light but also empowers citizens to hold public institutions accountable,” Dahal stated during the event.

Through his persistent efforts, Dahal has highlighted the importance of every citizen’s constitutional rights to scrutinize and improve the transparency of public bodies.
