Kishunji remembered for his integrity
The late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai has been remembered for his relentless contribution to Nepal’s democratic movement.
Speaking at a programme organised today by the Late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai (Kishunji) Foundation on the occasion of the 73rd National Democracy Day, Swami Anand Arun and culture expert Dr Jagman Gurung remembered the veteran leader as the ‘person with simplicity, decency and commitments.’
Senior journalist Yubraj Ghimire said the nation once again needed a leader with integrity like Kishunji while Bagmati Province Assembly former member Narottam Baidhya said Kishunji had his identity as a ‘politician with decency’.
Trust chair and NC Bagmati general secretary Raju Shrestha said when Kishunji held the party presidential post, he would use two pockets: one for his personal expenditures and another for official expenditures.
On the occasion, the family of Mukesh Kayastha was honoured. Kayastha is recognized as a living martyr. The family of martyr Bhim Bahadur Tamang was also felicitated.
