Local revenue management system enforced
The ‘revenue model’ in the local reserve fund management system has come into operation at the Office of the Comptroller General (OCG). Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel launched the model on Sunday.
With the revenue model in place, it is believed that fiscal report would have uniformity, convenience in service delivery and frugality in spending, thereby contributing to fiscal discipline.
The revenue model has come into full operation at Dhulikhel Municipality. It would be enforced at other local levels gradually, according to the OCG.
Launching the revenue model, Minister Poudel hoped it would promote capacity of the local levels. He urged the OCG and its subordinates to involve in creative works in addition to the daily work routines. He also directed the internal auditing and public account system to be more effective.
On the occasion, Revenue Secretary Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire said it is essential to search the dormant accounts of government bodies and recovery of government amount made in time. The revenue model will be helpful to this end, he expected.
