Mahat Slams PM for Betrayal, Disregarding Cooperation and Commitment

Nepali Congress (NC) Spokesperson and former Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has launched scathing accusations against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, alleging betrayal and a disregard for cooperation with the Nepali Congress.

Addressing media representatives at the NC central office in Sanepa, Dr. Mahat articulated his concerns, emphasizing that Prime Minister Dahal has neglected the commitment to cooperation with the Nepali Congress, the mandate bestowed by the people, and promises made to the electorate.

“Prime Minister Dahal’s actions, including the failure to honor proposals presented at the NC’s Mahasamiti meeting and the National Assembly election in Koshi Province, amount to a betrayal of trust,” asserted Dr. Mahat during the press meet.

He further highlighted the dissatisfaction within the NC leadership, citing statements from the central working committee and central work performance committee condemning Prime Minister Dahal’s actions as a betrayal of the NC’s principles.

“Dahal’s recent assertion in parliament regarding the necessity of forming a new alliance due to perceived betrayal by the NC is both erroneous and unfounded,” Dr. Mahat stated. “It’s important to recognize that Prime Minister Dahal has already formed three alliances following the 2022 polls, indicating a concerning pattern of shifting alliances.”

Dr. Mahat concluded by underscoring that Prime Minister Dahal’s propensity for changing alliances undermines the stability of the political landscape and erodes public trust in the democratic process.
