NA Elections: EC Begins Addressing Candidate Complaints

The Election Commission (EC) has kickstarted the process of addressing objections and complaints against candidates who submitted their nominations for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) member election. The window for filing complaints against the 52 candidates who registered their candidature on Monday is now open.

As per the Commission’s announcement, the complaints directed at the candidates will undergo a thorough investigation. The EC is set to release the list of candidates under scrutiny on January 10 and 11, allowing candidates the opportunity to withdraw their names from contention until January 12. The final list of candidates will be published on the same day.

On January 13, the Election Commission will take a crucial step in the electoral process by allocating election symbols to the candidates. This symbolic assignment marks an essential milestone in the lead-up to the polls scheduled for January 25.

With voting slated for January 25, the polls will be open from 9 am to 3 pm. A total of 2,047 eligible voters are set to participate in this democratic exercise. The Election Commission is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process, and the ongoing procedures aim to address any concerns or objections raised against the candidates. Stay tuned for further updates on this critical electoral process.
