Nepalese Priest to Perform Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir
Acharya Durga Prasad Gautam, a Nepali priest of great significance, has been invited to perform the dedication ceremony of the under-construction Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. The consecration ritual, known as Prana Pratishtha, is scheduled to take place from January 16 to 22, with the inauguration of the temple set for January 22 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.
Acharya Gautam, who previously played a pivotal role by laying the foundation stone of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple with Vedic chanting in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, expressed his pride in being invited once again for this momentous occasion. The invitation was extended by Champat Raya, the General Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, the organization overseeing the construction of the temple.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, built in the traditional Nagar style, stands as a testament to the devotion and cultural heritage of millions. With a length of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet, the three-storied temple is a grand architectural marvel. Each floor is 20 feet tall, totaling 392, and it is adorned with intricate details reflecting the rich history and significance of Lord Rama.
The construction of the temple is under the management of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, and the estimated cost ranges between ₹1,400 crore to ₹1,800 crore. The consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in the sanctum-sanctorum marks the culmination of years of effort and dedication by the trust and is a moment of great significance for millions of devotees.
