New Political Player JSP Backs Dahal Government

The newly-formed Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), under the leadership of Ashok Rai, has affirmed its support for the current government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. The decision was reached during a parliamentary party meeting held on Tuesday.

This announcement follows the official recognition of the JSP by the Election Commission on Monday. The JSP, a splinter group from the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal led by Upendra Yadav, aims to continue its political journey under Rai’s leadership.

According to a press release issued after the meeting, the JSP is committed to supporting the government’s efforts in governance and development. “In accordance with the decision reached in the parliamentary party meeting, JSP affirms its commitment to continue supporting the government led by Prachanda,” the press release stated.

The JSP will be represented by seven members in the House of Representatives, signaling its substantial role in the current parliamentary landscape.
