Newly-elected NA Members’ Oath on March 4; Chairperson Election on March 12

The Kathmandu Post has learned that the recently-elected members of the National Assembly are set to take their oath of office on March 4. In a meeting held on Friday, the Business Advisory Committee of the National Assembly finalized a provisional list of agendas for the upcoming winter session of Parliament, which is scheduled to commence on Monday.

The Committee proposed the administration of the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected National Assembly members on March 4, marking the commencement of their term. Additionally, the election for the next National Assembly Chairperson is slated to take place on March 12.

The term of 20 National Assembly members, including the current Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, is set to conclude on March 4. Out of the 19 members elected to fill the vacant seats, the remaining one member will be appointed by the President based on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
