Newly Formed Council of Ministers Holds Meeting, Makes Two Decisions

The newly formed coalition, backed by the CPN (UML), convened its first Council of Ministers meeting on Thursday. The session marked the initiation of administrative operations following the formation of the coalition.

During the meeting, pivotal decisions were made to propel the government’s agenda forward. Foremost among these decisions was the appointment of Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, as the official Spokesperson of the Government. Sharma, a seasoned figure in public affairs, brings a wealth of experience to the role, promising effective communication channels between the government and the populace.

Following Sharma’s appointment, she promptly addressed the media, affirming the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the Government Spokesperson and assured the public of timely and accurate dissemination of information.

Additionally, the Council of Ministers endorsed the participation of the Minister of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens in the upcoming 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in 2024. This decision underscores the government’s dedication to promoting gender equality and advancing the rights of vulnerable demographics on the international stage.
