Pakistan Embassy Hosts Alumni Gathering for Nepali Army Officers Trained in Pakistan Armed Force

The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal organized a grand alumni gathering on the evening of July 2, 2023, for Nepali Army officers who have received training in various institutions of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The event, held at the embassy premises, was attended by a significant number of serving and retired Nepali Army officers, including General Prabhu Ram Sharma, the Chief of Army Staff of the Nepali Army, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Colonel Muhammad Ali Alvi, the Defence Attaché of the Embassy of Pakistan, delivered the welcoming remarks, highlighting the vibrant bilateral relations between the two Armed Forces of Nepal & Pakistan especially in training domain. He underscored commitment by Pakistan Armed Forces for capacity building of Nepali Army.

Likewise, COAS General Prabhu Ram Sharma acknowledged the contributions made by Pakistan in training of Nepali Army officers, soldiers and capacity building in technical fields across all spectrum. He highlighted that Nepal is following the “Panchsheel” principles in its foreign policy and believes in “Amity for all and Enmity for None”. He lauded the contribution made by the officers trained in Pakistan’s excellent training institutions.

Ambassador Abrar Hashmi, during his vote of thanks, underscored the strong and trusting relations between Pakistan and Nepal, which encompass cooperation between the people, governments, and armed forces of both nations. He expressed his gratitude to General Prabhu Ram Sharma, former COAS Rana, and other senior officers for attending the inaugural alumni event.

Participants of the alumni gathering expressed their gratitude to Pakistan and it’s Mission in organizing the event providing them a platform to relive their fond memories of their stay in Pakistan.
