Palpa Reports 53 Cyber Complaints in 11 Months

The District Police Office, Palpa, has recorded 53 cyber-related complaints over the past 11 months, highlighting a growing trend in digital crimes.

According to Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand, these complaints were registered between February 19, 2024, and January 13, 2025. Among them, Facebook ID hacking was the most common issue, with 16 reported cases.

Of the complaints processed as cybercrime cases, 17 have been settled so far. The reported incidents involve various social media platforms and apps, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Messenger, Emo, Instagram, Viber, and WhatsApp.

SP Chand attributed the rising number of cyber complaints to the rapid expansion of internet access, increased use of digital devices, and a lack of digital literacy among users.
