Petroleum Prices Reduced by NOC

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, with new rates taking effect from midnight on Tuesday.

Following a meeting of its Board of Directors, the NOC decided to lower the retail prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 3 per litre.

Under the revised pricing, petrol will now cost Rs 157.50 per litre in the first category, Rs 159 in the second, and Rs 160 in the third. Diesel and kerosene will be sold at Rs 143.50, Rs 145, and Rs 146 per litre, respectively, across the same three categories.

The pricing categories are based on depot locations: Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj fall under the first category; Surkhet and Dang are in the second; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal are in the third.

According to NOC, the price adjustment follows a reduction in purchase rates from the Indian Oil Corporation. The updated rates show a decrease of Rs 3.15 per litre for petrol and Rs 2.62 per litre for diesel.

The Corporation stated that the revised prices reflect the latest purchase costs and are aimed at adjusting domestic rates accordingly.
