Political Parties Urged by President to Implement Constitution for Stronger Federal System

In a Maghi festival reception held at Shital Niwas today, President Ramchandra Paudel called upon political parties in the federal parliament to expedite the enactment of necessary laws for the complete implementation of the Constitution. Expressing concern over the frustration among citizens due to the incomplete enforcement of the Constitution, the Head-of-the-State urged collective commitment from political parties to realize the federal democratic republic system.

President Paudel acknowledged that the Constitution has empowered marginalized, neglected, excluded, and disadvantaged communities, earning praise from the international community. However, he emphasized that these rights are yet to be fully put into practice.

“Citizens are frustrated not for any other reasons but due to delayed realization of the Constitution’s full enforcement. Let’s expedite the process of drafting the laws mandated by the Constitution and transform the people’s frustrations into hope,” said President Paudel during the reception.

Highlighting the citizens of Nepal’s inclination towards progress, President Paudel urged everyone to work towards materializing the people’s dream of an inclusive federal republic system. He called for a resolution on the occasion to meet the people’s aspirations for such a system.

The event was attended by Vice President Ram Sahay Yadav, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chair Ganesh Timilsina, Vice Chair Urmila Aryal, parliamentary party leaders from various parties in the federal parliament, presidents of parliamentary committees, and independently elected lawmakers.

As Nepal looks forward to achieving the complete implementation of its Constitution, the call from President Paudel emphasizes the urgency of legislative action and political commitment to address the frustrations among citizens.
