
Renowned Literary Writer Lil Bahadur Kshetri Passes Away at 92


Prominent literary writer Lil Bahadur Kshetri has passed away at the age of 92. A permanent resident of Assam, India, Kshetri breathed his last in Guwahati on Thursday night, according to Murari Sigdel, chief editor of the literary magazine Shabdapath.
Kshetri was a celebrated figure in Nepali literature and was honored with the prestigious Jagadambashree Award for his remarkable contributions to the enrichment of the Nepali language and literary heritage.
He authored several influential works, including the widely acclaimed novels Basain and Atripta Ra Brahmaputrako Chheuchhau, along with a collection of prose titled Assam Ma Nepali Bhashiko Sahrogahro. His literary repertoire also encompassed short fiction, essays, and plays.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions, Kshetri received numerous accolades, including the Bhanu Award. He was also honored with India’s esteemed Padma Shri, one of the country’s highest civilian awards.
