Second round of World Cup qualifier: Nepal to Face Yemen in Second Match in Kathmandu

Nepal will play the second match of the World Cup football qualifying group stage against Yemen in Kathmandu.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) conducted a press conference on Tuesday and announced that the initial game between Nepal and Yemen is scheduled to take place at Dasharath Stadium on the 5th of Mangsir at 7 pm. ANFA spokesperson Suresh Shah provided details about the Kathmandu match during the press conference.

Prior to the home game against Yemen, Nepal will engage in the first match of the group stage against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Kartik 30 at their home ground. According to ANFA, this fixture will occur as scheduled.

Bahrain is also part of this group. The first encounter between Bahrain and Nepal is planned to be held on March 21 at Dashrath Stadium. ANFA spokesperson Suresh Shah has indicated that the match against Oman will be played at 7 pm, based on the advice of Alberto Enes, the head coach of the Nepali national football team, to benefit Nepal.

Enes is currently conducting closed training sessions for 26 players in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers, from which 23 members will be selected for the match.

Furthermore, Shah confirmed that Chasal Stadium in Chasal is ready to accommodate the Yemeni national team during their visit.

For the Nepal-Yemen match, ANFA has set the ticket prices at Rs 400 for general and Rs 1,000 for VIP seats. ANFA has also reported that preparations for the live broadcast of the game are in their final stages, and the media partner will be officially announced in the coming days.

The commercial and media rights for all matches in the second round have been acquired by Singapore-based Sport Five.

ANFA estimates that the total cost of the game will amount to 73 lakh 68 thousand 400 rupees.
