Sekhar Koirala Accuses Prime Minister of Devaluing Martyrs

In a recent party program in Biratnagar, Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala criticized Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, accusing him of devaluing the sacrifices made by martyrs for the cause of democracy in Nepal. Koirala expressed his concern about Dahal’s announcement to add another 3,000 martyrs, stating that such a move could undermine the significance of Martyrs Day.

During the party event, Koirala emphasized the importance of respecting the sacrifices made by those who laid down their lives for the establishment and protection of democracy in the country. He cautioned against haphazardly increasing the number of martyrs, describing it as an insult to their memory.

Prime Minister Dahal, also the chairman of CPN (Maoist Center), had declared in a Kathmandu program three days prior that the government would soon officially recognize an additional 3,000 martyrs.
