
Shankharapur Bus Accident: 27 Injured Discharged, Driver in Custody


Twenty-seven of the 43 people injured in the bus accident at Kattike, Shankharapur Municipality-5, have been discharged from the hospital, police confirmed today.
According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the bus (Ba 2 Kha 7958) was carrying students from Satyasai Academy after a picnic in Nagarkot when it veered off the road and fell 20 feet.
The accident claimed three lives: 11-year-old Krishal Puri from Urlabari Municipality-7, 23-year-old Suresh Tamang from Balefi Rural Municipality-7 in Sindhupalchowk, and 14-year-old Sushank Dotel from Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-3 in Sindhupalchowk. Krishal succumbed to injuries at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Maharajgunj, Suresh at Nepal Medical College, and Sushank at Shankharapur Hospital.
Among the injured, two are receiving treatment at KMC Hospital, nine at Nepal Medical College, one at Mediciti Hospital, two at TUTH, one at Helping Hands in Chabahil, and one at People’s Life Care Hospital.
Meanwhile, the bus driver has been taken into police custody as authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the accident.
