28th Aug 2024
Speaker Devraj Ghimire today certified the Bill relating to Transitional Justice, officially known as the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act (Third Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS.
According to Shekhar Adhikari, the Speaker’s press expert, the certification took place following the Bill’s endorsement by both houses of the Federal Parliament. The House of Representatives (HoR) passed the Bill on August 14, and the National Assembly followed suit on August 22.
With the Speaker’s certification, the Bill will now be sent to the President for authentication, which is the final step before it becomes legally validated for implementation.
