Speaker Ghimire leaves for Switzerland

The Speaker of House of Representatives (HoR), Devraj Ghimire, has left here for Switzerland leading a 10-member parliamentary delegation to attend the 148th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The Federal Parliament Secretariat stated that Speaker Ghimire is flying to Geneva via Doha today to attend the 148th Assembly of the IPU which is taking place in Geneva of Switzerland from March 23 to 27.

Nepal Congress chief whip in HoR Ramesh Lekhak, UML chief whip Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, CPN (Maoist Centre) chief whip Hitraj Pandey and chief whip of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Santosh Pariyar have accompanied Speaker Ghimire.

Likewise, National Assembly Member Ganga Kumar Belbase, Spokesperson of Federal Parliament Secretariat Yekram Giri and other officials are also included in the parliamentary delegation.

Speaker Ghimire is scheduled to deliver his speech on “Parliamentary Diplomacy: Building Bridges for Peace and Understanding”.

The parliamentary delegation is scheduled to return home on March 29.
