Sports Sector Has Immense Potential in Nepal, Says Prime Minister

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ highlighted the abundant possibilities in Nepal’s sports sector during the inauguration of the Fourth National Wado-ryu Open Karate Championship organized by the Nepal Wado-ryu Karate Do association.

In his address at the event, PM Dahal expressed his belief in the untapped potential of various sectors in Nepal, with a particular emphasis on sports. He commended the outstanding achievements of Nepali athletes in both national and international competitions, citing notable successes in the recently-concluded South Asian Karate Championship held in Nepal, the Fifth South Asian Championship in Bangladesh, and the 19th edition of the Asian Games.

“Nepal is a country full of copious possibilities. We have abundant possibilities for the country’s development and progress. Among them, sports is a sector carrying better potential. The progress Nepal has achieved in the sports sector in the last decade also proves this reality,” stated Prime Minister Dahal.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the development of the sports sector during his third term in office. He underscored the importance of recognizing and nurturing the talents of Nepali sportspersons, aiming for further success on both national and international stages.

As the Fourth National Wado-ryu Open Karate Championship commenced, PM Dahal encouraged participants and organizers to continue fostering a culture of sports excellence in the country. The event, organized by the Nepal Wado-ryu Karate Do association, is expected to witness intense competition and serve as a platform for showcasing the prowess of Nepali karatekas.

Prime Minister Dahal’s remarks underscore the government’s commitment to harnessing the potential of the sports sector as a catalyst for overall development and progress in Nepal.
