Ties Restored: Mayor Balen Hosts Home Minister Shrestha for Lunch

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha visited the residence of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah for lunch on Saturday.

Upon reaching the mayor’s official residence, Shrestha was warmly welcomed by Mayor Shah and his wife, Sabeena Kafle. The visit comes as a strategic move to rebuild ties following Mayor Shah’s recent protest against traffic police actions involving his wife, Sabina, during a critical medical situation.

Capturing the moment, Kafle posted a photo of the lunch event with Mayor Shah and Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha, captioning it, “It was awesome having our Honourable Deputy Prime & Home minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha for lunch today.”

The invitation was strategically extended on the commencement of Tihar, emphasizing a shared commitment to fostering unity. Balen’s secretariat confirmed that the Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Balen’s residence was orchestrated on the auspicious day of Tihar, symbolizing a renewed effort to strengthen ties between the two political figures.
