Two Chinese Nationals Arrested for Illegal Entry into Nepal
Two Chinese nationals have been arrested for illegally entering Nepal from India through the Nepal-India border area. The arrests were made by a joint patrol team of the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force stationed in Gheraujot, Ward No. 5 of Suddhodhan Rural Municipality, Kapilvastu.
According to the District Police Office, the individuals have been identified as Liguangui (32), who possessed a Chinese passport, and Xtao (35), who lacked proper travel documents. Both were accompanied by a guide, Arbaaz Sheikh (23), a resident of Kakrahawa, Siddhartha Nagar in India, who has also been detained.
During the arrest, authorities recovered two laptops, six mobile phones, and 14,750 Indian rupees from their possession.
The detained individuals and the guide were initially sent to the Immigration Office, Rupandehi, Belhiya, for further investigation. Subsequently, Sheikh was transferred back to the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, for additional questioning.
Authorities are conducting further investigations to ascertain the purpose of the Chinese nationals’ illegal entry into Nepal and their activities in the border region. The incident underscores the vigilance of Nepalese security forces in safeguarding the integrity of the country’s borders.
